Perfection Is the Enemy of Good (Enough)

Writer: Sarah LeeSarah Lee

In a world where you can never feel good enough, the truth is you are perfect in the way you exist. Sometimes, we can be so focused on being perfect that we avoid or neglect opportunities that we know we aren't experts in.

There is no shame in doing things imperfectly, so don't hold yourself back by giving up at the mere thought of not reaching your ideal standards. Don't be as weak as giving into a fleeting thought. We are our biggest critic, and if your friends and family aren't holding you back--don't be your biggest enemy. Accept your unique aesthetic of imperfections.

There is always more work to be done, more to achieve, and more experiences to collect. If life was converted into an equation, you'd be the only constant. Be careful of overwriting yourself in a fever-frenzy of perfection.

You are deserving of happiness and light in this exact moment, exactly as you come, right now. You are welcome inside a kingdom of warmth--just as you stand with the clothes on your back, your steel baggage of failures, and your Marry Poppins umbrella of shooting dreams. Whether you improve yourself to the moon or take two steps back to Mars, accept yourself with open arms. You have the right to all of the highest blessings that life has to offer. You don't fall short to perfection, you are good as you come.
